Wedding on Lake Garda: history and architecture match together to celebrate your marriage.
Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy, located in the North and embracing three regions: Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige. It is 370 km2 wide and offers different landscape architecture, depending on the mountains in the North and the hills in the South.
Inside the lake five small islands lay: the biggest one is the Isola del Garda, where in 1220 St.Francesco D’Assisi founded a monastery, destroyed in the XVIII century; a magnificent neo-gothic venetian palace has replaced it later. Isola di S.Biagio is also called Isola dei Conigli since in XVI there were a lot of rabbits and hares in this area; due to its position nearby the coast, during shallow period it can be reached by feet. The smallest islands are near the town of Malcesine, on the east side of the lake.
Every year this area is the favourite destination of many foreign visitors, due to the mild climate, which is so favourable for vegetation that olive and lemon trees are cultivated widely.
